• Medusa, the Gorgon from Roman mythology was a beautiful priestess of the temple of the Roman god, Athena until she was defiled by the god of the sea, Poseidon. Upon discovering this, Athena punished Medusa by turning her into a Gorgon; a hideous creature with hair of snakes, who hides herself from all humanity. No man could ever lay eyes on her again without turning to stone.
